It is finally the end of the week which makes me unbelievably happy! This week has been long, so long I can't even remember what happened on Monday. I've had two midterms over the last two days and last night I was studying for hours for my Theater 2 midterm and went slightly insane. Today, I listened to three hours of Beatles music at work and Now I have the weekend ahead with my only plans being working box office on the shows here at Catholic.
Speaking of shows, I saw one of them last weekend called She Said/ She Said. If you live in the Washington DC area, I suggest you come and see this show (along with the other Requiem) because it is amazing. Just an innocent plug for the shows.
This week, I made my triumphant return to the Town and Gown choir which I hadn't been able to go to because of Troy Women. It was so nice to be able to sing for two hours and I was extremely happy that night. This week has been mellow besides for that. We had Monday classes twice this week so I was supposed to go to Spanish four times this week which made me very unhappy. But I only went three times because......
It snowed Monday night. Two days after it had been 70 degrees here in DC. Why is the weather so strange here. Classes were canceled Tuesday morning because of the snow but I still had Theater 2 which was interesting because I got to help exhibit how a breakaway bottle works.
My teacher, Mark, had pulled me aside last week and asked me if I would be willing to set up this whole situation with the breakaway bottle. Basically, I would have my phone ring in class and Mark would call me out on it. I would say something sassy when he took my phone and he would hit me over the head with the bottle. Mark had been excited all week about this and kept telling me that it would illicit a scream from someone in the class. Well, Tuesday was the day where we would do this. I kept trying to get my phone to be loud enough in class and it wasn't working. Finally it did and Mark and I did the little show. I hammed it up pretty well and fell to the floor, pretending to faint.Everyone in the class was in hysterics. I put my hand to my head and noticed that there was blood on it. My head had been cut in a few places. The real kicker here is that a breakaway bottle is made out of sugar glass, which is just sugar and water and it is made this way precisely so someone doesn't get hurt.
Yes, I got cuts from sugar.
Needless to say, the whole experience is quite hilarious.
On another note, this time next week I will be sitting in Dulles airport to fly home for Spring Break. I am super excited about having a break from classes and work.
I hope that everyone has a great weekend and doesn't get cut by sugar glass as well.
Bye-Bye!
