Leaving the note that she hoped would say more

It's rainy and wet here today and it awful. I do not like it at all. I just got back from training because I am running the light board for Cymebline here and tech starts tomorrow.

Now here is the Music Challenge

Day 4- a song that makes you sad

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lG3nXyI41M

I remember the first time I heard this song was when my 5th grade teacher played it for us. It's only made me feel more sad as I have aged since the song is so much about aging and how time goes on. It's still an amazing song, just somewhat sad. Runner up- the theme from Gone with the Wind. It makes me cry every time I hear it.

Enjoy!

Sell my soul by dropping names

Today has been a long day not helped by the fact that it is raining outside and 39 degrees (though it doesn't feel that cold).

Nothing that exciting happened today except that I had rehearsal with my scene partner. It was awful. This kid is a child and completely pretentious. He gets mad if I dare to give him a note (because I can't help it that my directer side comes out a little bit doing this) and then turns around and gives me the world's worst acting notes. I really just want to yell at him that he doesn't know anything about acting and should keep his mouth shut. But I obviously didn't say anything. I'm so sick of dealing with someone who believes that anyone can act or give notes on it and that the great teachers such as Uta Hagan and Stanislavsky are silly and annoying.

After that long rant, I have for you another part of the Music Challenge.

Day 3- a song that makes you happy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8RzSRIKGvs&feature=related

Yet again, so many songs could fit under this heading. But this one song never ceases to have me dancing around my dorm, smiling and singing. Maybe this song is kind of how I feel. It just feels so happy in it's melody and the awesome piano parts. I also enjoy this artist a lot more when he is live.

Enjoy this song! Hopefully it makes you happy too! I know it's making me happy.

Which seat should I take?

Alright everyone, I am continuing the 30 day music challange.

Day 2: You least Favorite song

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M11SvDtPBhA

I detest this song. It defines everything that is wrong with music today. One of the major problems with it is the singer and the fact that the song gets stuck in your head really easily until I want to punch myself in the face for annoying myself. Runner up- Friday by Rebecca Black, but that is accualty kind of funny.

Don't enjoy this song

In the roaring traffics boom

Hey!

Sorry I haven't posted in a long time. Life became really busy. I was two cabarets and have multiple long assignments in my life to do. It's really a joy.

The weather here has been temperamental. It's pretty cold right and my dorm decided to turn it's heater off and hasn't turned it back on when it got cold again. Right now I'm wearing a sweater and two sweatshirts and am still slightly cold. Lots of tea to warm my hands is the key right now.

I've also been dealing a lot lately with this annoying scene partner for Acting I. He is a senior business major and seems to think that the only legitimate major is his own and said that everyone in my class, which is mostly drama majors are pretentious and that acting is (pardon my French) bullshit. It makes me angry because if he feels that way, why is he taking the class? Even if you need an elective, why take a class you think is dumb? He also has a really thin skin which is going to kill him in the business world. Acting has trained me to grow a thick skin.

Now, here is the linchpin of this post. Any of you who have a facebook have seen the 30 day photo challenge. Here I present the 30 day music challenge:

Day 1: your favorite song

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YUe2I7M0N4

It's such a challenge to pick my favorite song because I love so many songs. The decision came down to the one song that never fails to make me feel super happy. This song could honestly fit under any of the headings, that is how much I love it.

The way this works is that you have to click on the link to find out what song it is!

Enjoy!

Mo Ghile Mear

Happy St.Patrick's Day!!!

My family is incredibly Irish. I'm 100% Irish and 2nd generation so this day was always an important day for my mom and I. Typically we would be making soda bread and eating potatoes (no corned beef, I hate it) and listen to Irish music. This year, not much of that is going to be happening except that I get to enjoy a whole new tradition: Catholic University's St.Patrick's Day.

All I can say is: insanity. I've never seen so much green in my life. Most of the school is Irish so today is a massive day for everyone. The weather was perfect today, in the 60s all day. The Pryz was serving Irish food but I avoided it because I really don't trust the food here.

Along with all of this comes the drunk people which is more entertaining then a nuisance. People started this morning at about eight and have been going all day, it's slightly ridiculous. I even think my philosophy professor was drunk this morning because he was behaving even more erratically then he normally does like spilling coffee on himself in the middle of a lecture and telling us about (what I guessed) was his love life. It was very funny and slightly weird.

I just had a rehearsal for a playwrighting cabaret that I am in. It's been a good time. And I'm in another thing called A Lifetime of Secrets which is based off of Postsecret. This a completely Freshmen idea and project and it's been a good way for the Freshmen to work with one another.

Tonight I will most likely drink an incredible amount of Berry's Tea and listen to Irish music which I am doing right now. But who knows what else the night holds.

Have a good St.Patrick's Day

Bye-Bye!

Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting

Spring Break is officially over and I've been back in the District for about two hours now. I'm running on no sleep and am attempting to be productive which is being done half-heartily. I really wish break had been longer because I was just settling into being back home and not doing work. But my summer is in eight weeks so I don't have too much to complain about. I'm guessing most of my upset self is coming from a lack of sleep.

On a good note, as I sat in the shuttle from the airport today, I heard on the radio that today is the last Sunday of Winter which made me so happy that I started packing away my winter things right when I got back to my dorm. Time to get the flip-flops back out! The Weather back home spoiled me because it was so nice. I even went swimming on Wednesday at Indian Springs which is an amazing spa in Napa. Needless to say, I am ready for the warm weather of Spring which is soon to come.

I also saw a show at my high school over Spring Break and nothing made me feel better then when people would run up to me in excitement that I was there. I caught up on all the gossip (mainly consisting of who got into what colleges) but I also learned about CTE's trip to London which I did last year. They are going to be seeing many plays but the one that makes me most jealous is The Children's Hour with Kiara Knightly and Elizabeth Moss (Peggy Olson on Mad Men). Talk about a trifecta of amazing! I'm tempted to skip class and fly over to London to see it with them. Instead I will watch every season of Mad Men to make up for it.

While waiting for my flight back to Oakland last week, I bought a book to pass the time called Frank: The Voice. It discusses the life of Frank Sinatra from the beginning of his life until his Oscar win for From Here to Eternity in 1954. It's very interesting and only furthers my love of Sinatra and his pure genius. The best part of Spring Break was that I got so much reading done and for Lent I decided that I would read for myself ten minutes each day, as well as giving up french fries.

My break basically ended with a tsunami warning for the whole West Coast because of the terrible Earthquake/ Tsunami in Japan. This is the one and only time I will be Catholic on this blog but if you are religious, please pray for the people of Sendai. Thanks.

I have homework to do today such as a nasty Spanish composition and I really do not want to do it. Ahh well, Spring Break is over. I best be off to write that composition. I hope everyone enjoys their last few days of Winter and gets ready for the upcoming Spring!

Bye-Bye!
